Free Download Storage Sites:

The links to the following sites were offering 'free' downloads are listed in order of preference. (Updated July 2015)

1. SolidFiles:  This option is available at the Minirlss (and now others).  I have found their links to be excellent to use!

2. ClicknUpload:  Usually full speed and highly recommended.

3. Hugefiles:  Ensure you hit the green "Download" button so as not to install their loader.  Often full speed but not always.  May not have older files.

4. Zippyshare:  Not full speed but usually around 75%.  The most likely site to have 'older' files.

5. 180upload:  No longer in use as of January 2016

6. RapidRar: Quite reasonable speed (around 40+%).  RapidRar is available at RapidMoviez but you need to sign up as a "registered member" to get the better free download speed.  It may ask you to turn of the Adblocker as well.

There is a 60 second 'waiting' time before you get the download links.Rapidrar free service has been severely curtailed early 2016 as they push for people to use the paid option.  Hugefiles is now a free option via Rapidmoviez.

As these sites seem to come and go, a little trial and error may be required.  Give a couple of other download sites a go, if they ask for payment try the next one!

Setting Up Options In Internet Download Manager (IDM):

Some settings I use in the IDM tab "Options".

1. I make sure IDM is fully integrated with my favorite browser (under the Options "General" tab.)

2. In "Options", the tab "File Types".  I add (by just typing in) 000 001 002 003 004 005 006 007  Though not used frequently, there are some movies files which have this extension.

3. If you have PDF listed as a file type, then every site you go to with the extension pdf will be automatically downloaded rather than opened.

4. Under the tab "Save To" there are 5 different "Categories".  Ensure you know or select where you want the files you download with IDM to be saved to for each category.

5.  Select your Connection Type/Speed under the Connections tab. It is also here you can nominate how many files you want to download simultaneously.

Interested In Kodi?

There are numerous sources available in the internet about Kodi, otherwise known as XBMC.  Kodi is an application for various platforms as a media player and streamer.  It will play media from any drive on your network or attached to the unit itself.

You can download addons which will show your own movies or provide links to online web streaming sites.

Kodi has it own wiki website as well with all the information you could ever want.
